Joint Stock Company «Uglemetan Service» was founded in Kemerovo, Kuzbass, Russia, in 2005. Company’s basic activities include the following:

• Development of carbon documents in compliance with UNFCCC standards (PIN, PDD formats);
• Development of coal mine methane utilization projects and facilitation of direct investments into introduction of advanced technologies on various methane concentration use, including boiler stations, gas generator stations, vacuum-pump units fueled with recovered methane, modules for transforming gas mixtures into thermal and electrical power;
• Delivery of equipment and spare parts throughout the territory of Russia;
• Promotion of services and products of foreign companies on the territory of Russia;
• Conduction of field tests to detect filtration (permeability, skin factor) and desorption (gas content) properties of coal seams. The company possesses the set of required equipment to implement the above mentioned tests.

JSC «Uglemetan Service» has established good relations and actively cooperates with Russian coal mining companies. Its personnel is well qualified in the field of coal mining, chemical and gas transportation issues, economics and mathematics, provides high-level translation services. JSC «Uglemetan Service» also collaborates with the leading international companies in the area of methane utilization and GHG emissions reduction, owning a significant data base of potential ERUs buyers and sellers.
The project CoMeth is one of these collaboration projects. In the frames of CoMeth JSC «Uglemetan Service» takes part in the following working packages:

• WP1 - Basics on country situation;
• WP5 - Optimising and development of CMM utilisations of methane from ventilation air at a location in Russia;
• WP6 - Implementation of CMM utilisation of methane from ventilation air at a chosen location in Russia;
• WP8 - Development of decision guidance for utilisation of CMM;
• WP9 – Dissemination;
• WP10 - Project management.
